Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad was incorporated on 30th December 1978. Back then, it was known by another name - Industrial and Commercial Insurance. Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad, in its present shape and form came to be, only in 1991, when the present owners bought the company.

Rising from the ruins of an insolvent Insurer, Kurnia Insurans has become one of the most successful general insurance companies in Malaysia. Kurnia Insurans' success is founded on fair business practices, which protect the legitimate interests of its policyholders and offers its service providers lucrative and honest income opportunities.

With total capitalization of RM600 million, which comprises RM370 million in fully paid-up ordinary share capital and RM230 million of irredeemable convertible subordinated debts, and total assets exceeding RM2 billion, Kurnia Insurans stands as a pillar of the industry, representing stability and strength.

While motor insurance is Kurnia Insurans' main class of insurance business, our non-motor portfolio is by no means, insignificant in terms of premiums. Kurnia Insurans will pursue growth in the non-motor business in support of the nation's drive for increased national retention.

With over 6,500 agents across the country, Kurnia Insurans also boasts one of the most extensive agency networks in the industry, represented in practically every town.

With the imminent liberalization of the Malaysian insurance market, Kurnia has undertaken several protective measures in expectation of rising unbridled competition. One predominant move is strategizing towards eCommerce and seizing a prominent position by being the forerunner in providing online insurance services. This website is one of the many means by which to establish Kurnia's presence in the virtual market.
