Kurnia Asia posts RM32.2m profit in Q1

Kurnia Asia Bhd, an insurer, rose 4 per cent to 78 sen, set for the highest level
since March 27, 2008.
The company said it posted a profit of RM32.2 million (US$9.4 million) in the fiscal
first quarter ended Sep 30 compared with a loss of RM12.1 million a year earlier,
boosted by a "very strong turnaround" in its investment portfolio and an improvement
in its underwriting performance. - Bloomberg
