Kurnia Asia's net profit rises sharply

KURNIA ASIA BHD's net profit for the nine months ended March 31, 2009 rose
to RM14.39 million from RM1.3 million in the same corresponding period last
year.
In a statement, Kurnia said the improvement was largely attributed to the
company's sustained positive underwriting performance to date for financial
year 2008/2009, as well as stronger investment performance achieved during
the quarter under review.
It said there was still room for improvement amid a challenging environment.
