Agency Convention 2010
In appreciation of the continuous strong support and outstanding achievements
of our agents nationwide, Kurnia Insurans recently held its Agency Convention
at Berjaya Beach & Spa Resort, Langkawi on 16-18 April 2010. The 3 days
2 nights event was well attended by about 600 people, including members from
our management team, selected marketing staff and our agents throughout the
country.
Day One started off with light refreshments at the ballroom upon the arrival
of all the invited guests. The real celebration began with a ‘Hawaiian
Nite’-themed Beach BBQ Party at 7.00pm. The much anticipated gathering
was officiated by our Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Kua Sian Kooi, who
lighted up the torch to mark the opening ceremony. This was followed by a welcoming
speech by Mr. Pang Yoke Nam, Head of Agency Distribution. The night continued
with karaoke sessions and games, while a wide array of delicious food was served
throughout the dinner. All in all, it was a splendid night as it was filled
with exciting performances, which brought non-stop fun and made it a memorable
night for the attendees.
Day Two of the Agency Convention began with a keynote address by Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka
Kua Sian Kooi. Mr. Nigel Andrade from McKinsey shared some key points on the
market outlook and changes in the industry to keep the agents updated on the
current market condition. Following that, En. Kamal Arifin, Head of Motor division,
delivered a talk on our claims service and emphasized that we provide the best
claims service in the industry.
After the morning coffee break, the convention proceeded with a motivational
talk in Mandarin by Mr. Ke Kao Lin Fong who shared his life experiences, including
how he fell from stardom, regained his dignity and rebuilt his career. Meanwhile,
Mr. Rohn Rajen gave a motivational talk in English and Malay, highlighting
the importance of Goal Setting and Motivation (Secrets and Law of Attraction).
The crowd then went for lunch before heading off for a tour and shopping spree
around the island.
The day concluded with a ‘Batik/Evening’-themed Gala Dinner. Dato’ T.M.
Quah a.k.a. Dato’ Cikgu, our Executive Adviser gave the opening speech.
This was followed by an award presentation ceremony to the winning agents.
The Challenge Trophy was presented to Mr. Yap Thim Po of YTP Entreprise. There
was also a presentation of new blazers. The night continued with some entertaining
performances by Lively Larry and Ke Kao Lin Fong.
