Kurnia Insurans sponsored the China Press Charity Treasure Hunt 2009
Kurnia Insurans (KIMB) recently sponsored the China Press Charity Treasure
Hunt 2009 in support of the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation. As one of the
main sponsors, KIMB gave away Personal Accident (PA) insurance worth RM10,000
to each participant and contributed PA insurance worth RM100,000 to 25 lucky
draw winners. Other souvenirs from KIMB included safety whistles, car boot
organisers and car stickers. KIMB also provided 7 tow-trucks and 2 motorcycles
(KAA riders) as assistance services for the charity event.
In an interview session, KIMB’s MD/CEO, Captain K.H. Chia said, “KIMB
has also donated RM5,000 in cash to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation, which
added the total sponsorship amount to approximately RM20,000 for the entire
event.” Captain also expressed that he was honoured to participate in
the sponsorship, as it was a meaningful contribution in helping Down Syndrome
patients to carry on with their daily lives.
The China Press Charity Treasure Hunt 2009, involving 120 cars, travelled
from KL to Johor. There were about 360 participants, who had to go through
12 hours of challenges.
The teams started out at 6am on Saturday, 29 August 2009 from Berjaya Times
Square, KL to Malacca. The journey then continued to Muar, Batu Pahat and Skudai.
During the 12-hour drive, they answered 35 questions, purchased 3 "treasures" and
completed 3 tasks.
The 3 days and 2 nights charity treasure hunt went on from 29 August to 31
August and was organised in conjunction with Malaysia’s 52nd Independence
