Kurnia reaches out to Investors at Malaysia Gems 2010
As part of Kurnia Asia Berhad's (KAB) continuous efforts to promote Investor
Relations activities and to strengthen its ties with investors, the Group has
taken the opportunity to reach out to potential investors at the inaugural
Malaysia Gems 2010 in Singapore on 8 May 2010. The cross border investor roadshow,
which was jointly organised by ShareInvestor and Business Times, was held at
DBS Auditorium, Level 3, DBS Building Tower One, Singapore. The main objective
of the full day road show was to give an overview of the capital market in
Malaysia and to boost the confidence of Singapore investors to invest in Malaysia.
The event had more than 1,000 registered interests and drew a considerable
crowd of 450 participants. The morning of the opening ceremony saw Guest-Of-Honour,
Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Md. Hussin Nayan, High Commissioner of Malaysia
to Singapore, gracing the floors of Malaysia Gems 2010. The Welcoming Address
was presented by Editor-in-Chief of the English and Malay Newspapers Division
of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), Mr. Patrick Daniel, followed by the Opening
Address by Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, Dato’ Yusli Mohamed
Yusoff.
KAB’s Director of Corporate Planning and Investor Relations, Dr. James
Tee, was one of the speakers for the corporate presentation sessions. He gave
a brief overview of Malaysia’s general insurance industry and explained
about KAB’s operations and strategies. After the presentation, he attended
to some queries from the audience. Dr. James also spoke to some fund managers
and retail investors after the presentation. Overall, Kurnia’s participation
in this event was a fruitful one, as it had certainly raised an awareness of
the Company amongst the investing community in Singapore.
