Kurnia Insurans (M) Berhad contributes to CIMB-The Star Padang Relief Fund
Kurnia Insurans (M) Berhad made a contribution of RM100,000.00 to the 'CIMB-The
Star Padang Relief Fund' at Bangunan CIMB, Jalan Semantan, Damansara Heights on
7 October 2009.
The cheque was presented by the Chairman of Kurnia Insurans (M) Berhad, Tan Sri
Dato' Paduka S.K. Kua, to the Group CEO of CIMB, Dato' Sri Nazir Razak.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and the suffering brought about
by the earthquake in Padang. We hope that our contribution will go a long way to
help the victims and community in Padang, especially in disaster relief and recovery
efforts. Our hearts go out to all who have lost their loved ones and valuable possessions,"
said Tan Sri Dato' Paduka S.K. Kua. The donation channeled to the fund is part of
KIMB's corporate social responsibility in assisting communities, particularly in
moments of crisis.
"All these years, Kurnia has had close partnerships with the CIMB Group and The
Star Publications. Today, we are honoured to be part of this meaningful concerted
effort, initiated by CIMB-The Star, to provide emergency relief to the communities
in Padang," added Tan Sri Dato' Paduka S.K. Kua.
PT. Kurnia Insurance Indonesia is thankful that its staff and their families from
Padang were not affected by the devastating catastrophe. Tan Sri Dato' Paduka S.K.
Kua said this contribution and support is also a reflection of Kurnia's commitment
to the country in which it has a business presence.
