Kurnia Sponsors RM200,000 to Chinese Honglou Meng Masterpiece
Kurnia Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad is the main sponsor by contributing RM200,000 in support of “The
Sixth International Conference on Honglou Meng” academic event in a mock
cheque presentation ceremony held at Menara Kurnia Petaling Jaya on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
The cheque was presented by Kurnia Asia Berhad Executive Chairman, Tan Sri
Dato’ Paduka Kua Sian Kooi to Advisor of Organising Committee of The
Sixth International Conference on Honglou Meng, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Sri
Chan Kong Choy.
The conference, which is jointly organized by Persatuan Siswazah Jabatan Pengajian
Tionghua Universiti Malaya (PEJATI), The Department of Chinese Studies University
of Malaya and The Society of A Dream of Red Mansions China will be held on
26-27 July 2008 at Grand Millenium Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
According to Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Kua, the sponsorship will assist the
event organizers in ensuring the success of the meaningful event. He believes
the conference will be an eye-opener to the participants from across the country
that helps to cultivate young scholars’ interest in pursuing the beauty
of Chinese literature and cultural heritage as well as to enhance the innovative
capability of Chinese higher education.
