We Care Campaign: Aiding the ailing

Moved by the plight of the flood victims in Johor, Kurnia Insurans Recreation Club (KIRC) organised a campaign to provide aid for the families of those who had been struck by the disaster, especially to those who have been unfortunate enough to experience it twice! KIRC, headed by Senior Manager, En. Norizad Abd. Jalil, had initiated the campaign to help staff, agents and residents affected by the flood waters.

KIRC rallied for funds and items from employees and were overwhelmed with generous donations of cash, food items and other essentials. Head office staff also took time off their busy schedules by volunteering to sort out the items.

As many areas of Batu Pahat such as Parit Raja, Parit Sulong, Seri Medan, Parit Yaani and Yong Peng were affected, the branch's backroom staff lent their support by helping to clean up relief centres at Seri Medan and Taman Melodi Hall. Batu Pahat branch also did their bit by donating fresh fruits to the flood victims at 3 relief centres around the Parit Sulong and Parit Yaani region. During the visit, they also donated clothes and provisions collected to the families living there.

Struck by the extent of the destruction, a clean-up operation was undertaken through a co-ordinated effort between Kurnia's Johor Bahru and Johor Jaya branch respectively by sending 35 staff to assist several agents including Million Ringgit Producer (MRP), Malaysian Enterprise Company to clean up their office premises that were damaged during the incident.

Kurnia's community initiative on this occasion is not new. The company has in the past helped in situations that went even beyond Malaysia's shores such as aiding tsunami victims in 2004. Aiding the ailing is only expected of Kurnia!
