Visitation to Good Samaritan Home
Poverty, neglect or any other type of social ill should not be a stumbling
block towards becoming a responsible corporate institution that believes in
caring and sharing. In response to the needs of others, our Klang Branch staff
and agents did their part in lending a helping hand to children in need by
organising a visitation to the Good Samaritan Home on Saturday, December 23,
2006.
Many of the children in the home were orphans, from broken homes or living below the poverty line. Some were survivors of abuse. The aim of this event was to create a caring environment for the children from underprivileged backgrounds to feel that their lives are not worthless.
As many charity organisations do not have the resources to appeal for much-needed funds or goods, Klang staff and agents collected new and used items, food and gifts for the home. A monetary contribution of RM1,450 was also donated to the home together with a RM500 Jusco voucher. Free lunch was provided by Pizza Hut.
Serving to strengthen ties between staff and agents, Klang Branch has vowed to make this meaningful event a yearly affair.
