Blood and Organ Donation Campaign at Penang Branch
Kurnia's Penang and Butterworth branch staff together with supportive agents
worked together with the Red Crescent Society to hold a one-day organ and tissue
awareness event at their branch premises on Saturday, November 25, 2006.
The event aimed to encourage the staff, agents and members of the public to save the life of others by donating blood and pledging their organs and tissues. The awareness campaign turned out to be a hit as 32 people signed pledges and 72 packs of blood were collected.
Besides the organ donation drive and blood donation event, there was also a presentation on organ donation by Transplant Resource Centre (Penang Branch) and a rescue demonstration by the Red Crescent Society.
The awareness campaign saw active involvement by fellow agents who worked tirelessly with Kurnia to make the event a success. Special thanks goes out to the Penang General Hospital and our valued agent, Mr. Kong Shih Hao, the Chairman of Blood Donation Programme, Island Chapter of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society for their participation and encouragement.
