Road Safety Campaign

In a joint effort with The Star newspaper, Kurnia Insurans sponsored The Road Safety Campaign held during the 1997 Kongsi Raya period. Its eventual success, with thanks especially to the diligent support of the police helped in playing a positive role in helping to reduce road accidents and death rates around the country.

Newspaper advertisements were published in The Star, with banners placed along the North-South Highway and accident-prone stretches of trunk and feeder roads. Kurnia also provided a RM50,000 Personal Accident coverage to all traffic personnel involved in the Road Safety Campaign during peak traffic periods between January 31st to February 18th. 10 lucky drivers was also awarded insurance policies when they were stopped as they drove through the Batu Tiga tollgate. A essay writing competition was also held in primary schools around the country with a grand prize of 3 tickets to Perth, Australia.

This Kurnia-Police-The Star Road Safety Campaign coincided with the Police's Ops Pacak II (Static Operations). Gifts and certificates acknowledging their safe driving were also given out to 2,000 drivers.
